Hi! I’m Kjerstin West. I have been married for 16 years to Stephen and I'm a mom to three boys! Ever since childhood, I have loved school and learning. Kids and education in all forms are my passion!  I have a BS in Elementary Education and taught for CCSD for 10 years. This is my sixth year working for Leadership Academy of Nevada as a math aide for sixth and seventh grades. I have a passion for music and have been teaching piano and music lessons for 16 years. I’m a certified Music Together instructor, and have in the last few years dived into learning about, taking classes and trainings, and using the research of Edwin E. Gordon and his audiation based approach to music learning theory. We use this format to teach at the studio I’m employed at. I play the flute, oboe, bassoon and piano. I’m adding organ to that list this fall and I’d love to be proficient at the guitar! I LOVE podcasts, peanut butter M&Ms, audiobooks, serving others, and any kind of crafting and organizing! I'm very social and love being with friends and laughing! I am so honored to work with SNHPA and look forward to learning from the students.
